Coal Point Evening32 viewsA similar shot to a post I did some months back on Flickr - however, this one is from a slightly different angle, and is not an HDR image, as the other one was. I have been trying to master the u-point technology in Nikon Capture NX2, and whilst not completely there, I am quite pleased with the results I am achieving on single RAW files. The u-point technology is the same as that employed by the Nik software suites that are available to purchase as plug-ins for Photoshop. It allows you to target smaller areas within each shot to apply your adjustments to without the need for layers and layer masks - just point and click (more or less).
Coal Point on Bruny Island, as it looks out across Adventure Bay, is one of those places I love returning to. This evening was a beautifully balmy one, and yielded a productive session photographically. I will probably re-work, then re-post, some of the shots that I have previously posted in HDR, but this time as single, processed images.Walkthru

Coal Point XIV10 viewsOne of my all-time favourite shots of a place called Coal Point on Bruny Island, which is a small island off the east coast of Tasmania. We usually spend a week there over the New Year period each year. This is one of many shots I took this evening, all of which were used in the production of HDR images of this area. Each completed HDR image comprises 5 individual shots at 1 stop apart, tone-mapped in Photomatix.Walkthru

Fox Lane13 viewsOne of the older parts of Leyland.
In the centre left you can see what used to be two shops by the shape of the windows.
Also 30 years ago every chimney would of been working from a coal fire and the blue sky and trails from aircraft would not have been visable.Dave
